who I am
My name is Antonino (friendly nino) Branca, I was born in 1962 in Catona, a hamlet of the town of Reggio Calabria
(mythic Ρηγιον-Reghion), where I live.
I also have a degree in languages that is mouldering, still rolled in its cardboard tube... My computer training has been essentially autodidactic; but I attended some courses within my job experience, among which, it is worth mentioning the advanced web-master one, I attended in Milan, in two modules, between 2002 and 2003. That course however dealt with the dark side of the force, that is with proprietary technology. But so I had the chance to make a proper comparison and to draw obvious conclusions.

I am an employee in Tax Agency (something like Inland Revenue Office) where, among other roles, I also play that of computer specialist
and local net manager. Thanks to that activity and especially to net manager virtual community (we have an intranet web-site and several
newsgroups), my computer experience could have an exponential growth during these last years. So I do not want to say I have a
competence about this multi-shaped matter: I became interested in true computer information too late. It is also true that I have made my first databases in
basic since the early nineties (on a retrieved 8086!) and then I pounded something on my unforgotten Amiga. But, before 1998, I had used
a pc only sporadically (at office we had only terminals).
